Training objective

Practice a fictional, non-OEM-specific transfer that takes the UPS offline onto maintenance bypass, then returns it to inverter operation while keeping the critical load continuously energized.

Transfer Procedure — Inverter to Maintenance Bypass

Simulator only

Transfer the UPS load to Static Bypass.Verify that the load is being supported by the Static Bypass before proceeding.

Close the Maintenance Bypass Breaker (MBB).This energizes the Maintenance Bypass path and places it in parallel with the Static Bypass.

Open the UPS Output Breaker (UOB).This isolates the UPS output from the load while the load remains supported by the Maintenance Bypass.

Open the Bypass Input Breaker (BIB).This removes the bypass input source from the UPS.

Open the Battery Breaker.This disconnects the battery system from the UPS DC bus.

Open the Rectifier Input Breaker (RIB).This removes the normal AC input power and control power from the UPS.

Verify the UPS is fully isolated.Confirm that the load is being supported by the Maintenance Bypass and that the UPS is de-energized and isolated from the load.
